- Built-Up Roofing (BUR)
Built-Up Roofing is a system built with more than three to five plies of roofing felts, typically adhered to each other with hot asphalt. BUR systems are durable, long lasting, and relatively resistant to construction and post construction traffic. They are appropriate for both new and replacement roofing.
- Modified Bitumens
Modified bitumen is blend of modified asphalt and impregnated felts. The asphalt is modified with plastic or rubber polymers, most commonly APP (Atactic Polypropylene) and SBS (Styrene Butadiene Strene) then reinforced with either a fiberglass or polyester mat to improve its elasticity, durability, and overall performance. Because of the added polymers, modified bitumens are often applied in a single layer with overlapping seams.
